Chasm
Provincial Park in the South Cariboo. This pine tree covered canyon
marks the southern entrance to the Cariboo plateau. Easy access
off highway 97 makes this a spectacular spot to stop and rest awhile.
The
mighty Faser River winds its way through the center of the Cariboo.
The early explorers followed the river south to the coast, while the
1850's goldrush dreamers followed the river north to the goldfields
around Barkerville.
Cottonwood
House near Quesnel in the north Cariboo, is a standing reminder
to the goldrush days. This historic landmark served as a vital roadhouse
in the days of the Cariboo goldrush and the years to follow.
